HISTORICAL TREASURES
OF EUROPE
Erasmus + - Strategic partnership of
Slovakia, Greece, Italy - Sardinia,
Lithuania and Portugal.
Italy - Sardinia
The state school “Istituto Comprensivo Aggius” is made up of four Nursery schools (children from 3 to 5), five Primary schools (pupils from 6 to 11) and three Lower Secondary schools (pupils from 11 to 14). The 12 units are located in 5 different villages in North Sardinia.
Our regular class subjects are Italian, Foreign Languages (English, French, Spanish), History, Geography, Maths, Science, Technology, Art, Music, Physical Education, Religious Education. In addition to traditional subjects, our school also promotes cross curricular subjects and projects such as: active citizenship and social responsibility; protection and promotion of the artistic and cultural heritage; environmental education and media-education and ICT.
The school also proposes extracurricular activities, such as the students’ City Council, sport events and competitions, certification of foreign language competence (Cambridge Young Learners), shows and celebrations.
Our school is situated in an area with high traditional values where dialect and customs have been preserved and most of our teachers have been involved in projects which aimed at fostering our cultural heritage. The reason why the school is resolved on joining the Erasmus+ partnership is that the project Historical treasures of Europe definitely integrates into our curriculum. It aims, indeed, at encouraging pupils to learn the traditions and customs from different European cultures; it will help children to increase their foreign language competences; it will develop children ́s motivation in a real context. Moreover, the projects will enable teachers to work collaboratively in order to share experiences and learn from each other.
