The 3rd project day
March 2019
On the 14th of March after the 4th lesson the most curious students of our school came to the 2nd floor lobby. There was Italian music playing, tasetefull smell of the Italian bread focaccia, made by students from the 7e form with technology teacher Rasa Jonaitienė was surrounding us. Why was it Italian? Because on the 18th of March a group of students and teachers are going to Italy, Sardinia (Aggius) for a week, where the 2nd part of the „Erasmus+“ project „Historical treasures of Europe“ international learning activity will take place.
The project club students were presenting the upcoming activities by inviting our school students to check their knowledge about Italy, to learn some words or phrases in Italian, to taste iItalian bread, and of course, to learn about the project activities. Everyone wrote questions for the Italian students and put them in a suitcase ready to go.
In Italy the project teams are going to present the most important historical places and objects of their countries. With pride, Gedminai progymnasium team is going to present the Gediminas castle, The Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, the Vilnius Cathedrol, the Church of St. Anne, Kernavė, the Trakai castle, the Hill of Crosses. We hope, that the learning activities are going to be really interesting, and are going to help us to get to know our partner countries‘ history better.

On December 18th, the Community hall of Gedminai progymnasium was full of hustle, smiles, excitement, and Christmas music - that evening was dedicated to the international program “Erasmus +” projects participants’ Christmas Eve.
Students, participating in the project Historical Treasure of Europe presented to their parents what they had learned during the project, what activities are still ahead in 2020, and shared experiences from international teaching / learning activities.
After welcoming the participants of this traditional event, the principal of our progymnasium Aurelijus Liaudanskas invited all guests to take part in the Brain battle. Interesting questions, Lithuanian folk games were so engaging, that students, their parents and teachers didn’t notice how the time had melted.
