1st international meeting - Greece

Short term exchange of pupils

Topic: Historical events

On Monday the 26th November 2018 the 2nd high school pf Peristeri welcomed in the Peristeri city hall the partners of the Erasmus+ project “Historical treasures of Europe”, who come from Vrable (Slovakia), Klaideda (Lithouania), Aggius (Sardinia) and Fafe (Portugal). The event opened the vice major for education mr. Theodorakos  and the vice major for culture Mrs Tziota M.

There, the students presented a small  history of their country, while they had later the opportunity to create their own quizzes on history, but also to learn through playing and using ICT, like smartphones, tablets and the educational platform of Kahoot.

The following day (27.11.2018) was the excursion day to the archaeological sites of Mycenae, the ancient theatre of Epidaurus, where greek students played a small piece of ancient greek tragedy,  and the city of Nafplio, the first capital of Greece.

On Wednesday the 28th November the students and teachers of our program visited the Acropolis museum, the archaeological site of Parthenon, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Ancient Market, the Attalus gallery, Thission and Monastiraki. It is worth mentioning that the Greek students became tourist guides themselves presenting the history of each archaeological site.

The last day of our international meeting in Peristeri the pupils attended a history lesson at the traffic and educational park in Peristeri. Then they created artworks inspired by their 4day stay in Greece. At the afternoon of the same day the students participated in a treasure hunt in the 2nd high school of Peristeri, exchanged artworks already created in their country and organized an international artworks exhibition. After the award ceremony of the participating students and teachers, the evening closed with traditional Greek food, prepared by Greek parents, and with songs and a lot of dancing.
